In our study, the mean pre-ablation thyroglobulin was considerably elevated in both synchronous and metachronous metastases, with a rather long latency time for patients with metachronous metastatic disease, with a mean time between initial diagnosis and the finding of distant metastases of 5 years, similar to that found in the study by Sabet et al. [12]. Here, TG is linked to metastatic neoplasm.
