Because the parent gene CDK14 of circCDK14 is a cell cycle-dependent kinase involved in the occurrence and development of gliomas, further examination of the level of circCDK14 in gliomas revealed that the level of circCDK14 in human glioma cells was significantly increased, and circCDK14 was expressed at higher levels in grade II–IV gliomas than grade I–II gliomas. This evidence concerns the gene CDK14 and central nervous system cancer.
