To investigate whether increased nuclear Taz would promote alveolar epithelial regeneration and fibrosis resolution, we performed bleomycin injury on mice in which we inactivated Nf2 or Stk3/4 in AT2 cells and found that this resulted in increased AT1 cell regeneration and decreased pulmonary fibrosis based on hydroxyproline content (Figure 4A, B, I, J and K–O & Figure 4—figure supplement 1). Here, NF2 is linked to pulmonary fibrosis.
