Sugai et al. [42] reported CAFs might have a prediction value of lymph node metastasis in invasive submucosal colorectal cancer, and CAFs with nectin-1, monocarboxylate transporters (MCTs), fibroblast activation protein (FAP) marker had prediction value of lymph node metastasis or overall survival in pancreatic cancer [24, 43, 44], suggesting potential clinical use of CAFs in prognosis. The gene discussed is FAP; the disease is metastatic malignant neoplasm in the lymph nodes.
