Moreover, balanced chromothripsis generated fusion genes in ten samples that included established oncogenic fusions, such as CCDC170–ESR1 in breast adenocarcinomas, RAB3C–PDE4D in both skin melanomas and prostate adenocarcinomas, CCT5–FAM173B in bladder transitional cell carcinoma and TMPRSS2–ERG in prostate adenocarcinomas (Extended Data Fig. 10h and Supplementary Table 1). Here, RAB3C is linked to prostate adenocarcinoma.
