T1D was strongly associated with an extended cis-pQTL score for NECTIN2 generated by SNPs from 48.59 to 48.74 Mb on chromosome 19, 3.7 Mb downstream of the transcription site and spanning FUT2. Whether this should be classified as an extended cis-pQTL is uncertain, as the 3D Genome Browser33 (see web resources) shows no Hi-C interactions between the pQTL and the transcript region in a relevant cell line (Liver-STL011). This evidence concerns the gene NECTIN2 and type 1 diabetes mellitus.
