Jing Gong et al. in a retrospective study have shown that some inflammation-related parameters such as tumor necrosis factor α (TNFα), IL-6, interleukin-2 receptor (IL2R), interleukin-8 (IL-8), interleukin-10 (IL-10), CRP, ferroprotein, procalcitonin, white cell counts (WBC), lymphocyte counts (LC), neutrophil count (NC) and eosinophil counts (EC) are correlated to severity of COVID-19 [25]. The gene discussed is IL10; the disease is COVID-19.
