LAPTM5 and metabolic dysfunction-associated steatohepatitis: Depletion of LAPTM5 in hepatocytes significantly exacerbated hepatic steatosis, inflammation, and fibrosis in high-fat and high-cholesterol (HFHC) diet-induced mouse NASH models, whereas LAPTM5 overexpression in hepatocytes substantially delayed and mitigated the foregoing pathological changes.
