RUNX2 and diffuse idiopathic skeletal hyperostosis: Fourth, genetic colocalization and MR show that several key genes involved in osteogenesis such as RUNX2 play a significant role in the development of DISH, with 9 out of 10 loci having been previously implicated in several musculoskeletal traits and core processes within bone homeostasis (Figs. 4, 5, Supplementary Figs. 14, 15, and Data 2 and 3).
