KAT8 is involved in a plethoraof pathways that are crucial forcell cycle regulation and genomic integrity.6,7,9,10 Hence, itsdysregulation may have severe consequences on cellular homeostasisand may lead to aberrant proliferation,19,51 as observedin different cancer contexts, including NSCL, AML, breast cancer,OTSCC, and HCC.11−18 Consequently, potent and selective KAT8i would be highly beneficialfor the treatment of many cancer types and would also serve as chemicalprobes to investigate KAT8 biology. The gene discussed is KAT8; the disease is breast carcinoma.
