Similar to NF-κB, phosphorylated STAT3 not only inhibits ferroptosis in intestinal ischemia/reperfusion-induced acute lung injury by positively regulating SLC7A11, but also induces ferroptosis in hypertensive mice by inactivating the SLC7A11/GPX4 signaling (Qiang et al., 2020; Zhang et al., 2022).
