Because CaSR expression is lost in colon cancer cell lines and reliable “normal” colon epithelial cell lines are not available, we used CaSR-transfected (HT29CaSR−GFP and Caco-2CaSR−GFP) or empty vector-transfected (HT29GFP and Caco-2GFP) colorectal cancer cells as model systems for our in vitro experiments, as previously described (Iamartino et al., 2020). This evidence concerns the gene CASR and colonic neoplasm.
