TACR2 and asthma: the TAC1, TACR2, TACR1, and TACR3 genes encode receptors for tachykinins, whichare found in sensory nerve endings, are activated by inflammatory mediators(histamine, platelet-activating factor, and leukotrienes), and add the axonreflex mechanism to the pathogenesis of asthma, thus leading to aggravation andspread of the initial inflammation.
