Verma et al.'s [15] study showed that thyroid dysfunction was found to be more common in obese individuals. A significant correlation was observed between an increase in levels of total cholesterol/LDL/TG and USG finding of NAFLD (Table 7; p-value <0.001), which is in accordance with a study made by Rao et al. [16]. A significant correlation was observed between an increase in SGOT/SGPT levels and NAFLD (p-value <0.001). There was a slightly higher elevation of SGPT compared to SGOT in NAFLD patients (Table 11). This evidence concerns the gene GOT1 and metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease.
