Perform blood tests (C-reactive protein, full blood count, renal function tests, TSH, Na/K/Ca/Mg, blood protein level, glucose); troponin and NT-proBNP/BNP can be considered if a cardiac origin is suspected (as for instance acute coronary syndrome or heart failure), and ECG, chest X ray and global spirometry can be performed based on the patient’s conditions.
