Subsequent mechanism studies demonstrated that BATF2 interacted with chromosome region maintenance 1 (CRM1) through its nuclear export sequence (NES) region, which led to the nuclear export and ubiquitin‐mediated degradation of BATF2, eventually contributing to CRC proliferation via activating AP‐1/cyclin D1/phosphorylated retinoblastoma protein (pRb) signalling pathway. This evidence concerns the gene XPO1 and colorectal carcinoma.
