In lung, breast and ovarian cancer cell lines, inhibition of NMT1 resulted in downregulation of late endosome/lysosomal adaptor, MAPK and mTOR activator 1 (LAMTOR1) myristoylation levels, which prevented LAMTOR1 from localizing itself to the lysosomal membrane, which in turn prevented mTORC1 activation, ultimately leading to slower growth and proliferation of cancer cells [32]. Here, LAMTOR1 is linked to ovarian cancer.
