GPT and diabetes mellitus: Table 1 depicts baseline information for subjects who developed diabetes during follow-up and those who did not, respectively, and we found that subjects in the diabetic group were more likely to be men, smokers, drinkers, non-exercisers, and fatty liver patients than those in the non-diabetic group; and they were usually older, with higher height, weight, BMI, WC, WHtR, TyG-index, TyG-BMI, TyG-WC, TyG-WHtR, ALT, AST, GGT, TC, TG, FPG, HbA1c, SBP, DBP levels, and lower HDL-C levels (all standardized difference > 10%).
