Without EBV infection, CD56 is expressed in various cytotoxic T-cell lymphomas or leukemias, including primary cutaneous CD8 + aggressive epidermotropic cytotoxic T-cell lymphoma, mycosis fungoides with a cytotoxic immunophenotype, subcutaneous panniculitis-like T-cell lymphoma, type II enteropathy-associated T-cell lymphoma, hepatosplenic T-cell lymphoma, and T-cell LGL leukemia [27–29]. The gene discussed is CD8A; the disease is Epstein-Barr virus infection.
