Increased S100A7 in uninfected keratinocytes is not a detriment, asexcess psoriasin peptide in uninfected skin is associated with otherchronic inflammatory skin disorders, including psoriasis.13 Although MRSA infection did not induce increased S100A7 on the gene level, we observed a significant increaseon the protein level (Figures 2E,F), which could be due to differential regulation in thegene expression and the time point used in the analysis. The gene discussed is S100A7; the disease is psoriasis.
