In p120-null SW48 colon carcinoma cells (Ireton et al., 2002) and p120-depleted microvascular endothelial cells (MECs; Xiao et al., 2003a), cadherins are degraded through an endo-lysosomal pathway, revealing that p120 plays essential roles in the regulation of cadherin endocytosis. This evidence concerns the gene CDH17 and colon carcinoma.
