ELN and Hypertension: In future studies, the combination of such experimental and modelling tools will allow the investigation of alterations in viscoelastic mechanical properties associated with cardiovascular system-related diseases, particularly those altering the microstructure and, consequently, mechanics of collagen and elastin (e.g. diabetes and hypertension) (Spronck et al. 2021; van der Bruggen et al. 2021b).
