NK cells, and particularly CD56bright subset, are expected to be involved in autoimmunity due to their ability to distinguish between transformed/stressed cells and healthy cells, to orchestrate both innate and adaptive immune cells and to interact with stromal cells, through the integration of signals from activating (such as CD69, NKG2D) and inhibitory (such as CD161) receptors. Here, KLRK1 is linked to Autoimmunity.
