In the current study, we assessed ADHD-like symptoms among 312 adults with T2D and examined if their ADHD-like symptom counts or subscales of executive dysfunction and emotional control were associated with cardiovascular comorbidities, elevated HgbA1c (worse glycemic control), LDL-cholesterol and triglycerides (risk factors for cardiovascular disease), alanine transaminase (ALT; (a liver function test associated with fatty liver in T2D) or reduced kidney function (eGFR; estimated glomerular filtration rate). This evidence concerns the gene GPT and type 2 diabetes mellitus.
