Therefore, it is highly probable that most of our patients with different diagnosed pituitary deficiencies had also GH deficiency (with exception of patients with isolated deficiencies) and that was confirmed indirectly by lower IGF-I levels in patients with hypopituitarism (Table 1) and by the observation that lower IGF-I concentrations, similarly to pituitary tropic hormones (i.e. TSH, LH and ACTH), were associated with hypopituitarism in the univariate regression analysis (Table 5). This evidence concerns the gene IGF1 and hypopituitarism.
