Consistent with this finding, we also found that there were a marked M1 macrophages identified by co-expressing CD68(F4/80) and Mincle (a receptor for DAMPs and PAMPs on macrophages) in the skin lesions of patients and IMQ-induced animal model of psoriasis and that depletion of macrophages locally in the psoriasis-like skin lesions with clodronate liposomes inhibited the severity of skin injury. Here, CD68 is linked to psoriasis.
