p38 MAPK has been linked to neuroinflammation and AD due to its ability to activate nuclear factor-B (NF-κB; Kheiri et al., 2018), a master regulator of neuroinflammation gene transcription in the brains of AD patients (Chen et al., 2012; Liao et al., 2016; Olajide and Sarker, 2020). This evidence concerns the gene NFKB1 and Alzheimer disease.
