TBK1 and infection: TANK-binding kinase 1 (TBK1): TBK1 (tumor necrosis factor (TNF) receptor-associated factor NF-κB activator (TANK)-binding kinase 1), is involved in the activation of multiple cellular pathways leading to the production of IFN and proinflammatory cytokines after infection, autophagic degradation of protein aggregates or pathogens, and homeostatic cellular functions such as cell growth and proliferation [26].
