BAP1 is a tumor suppressor gene and its encoded enzyme binds to the breast cancer type 1 susceptibility protein (BRCA1) via the RING finger domain of the latter and binds to BRCA1 and BARD1, forming a tumor suppressor complex mapped to chromosome 3 (3p21.31–p21.2) region, which is generally deleted in metastatic uveal melanoma [53]. The gene discussed is BAP1; the disease is neoplasm.
