Categorical classification revealed that the levels of serum Hb and folate were >6.76 mmol/L and ≥13.5 nmol/L, respectively, in most women in T3 of serum vitamin D. The number of individuals with anemia defined as Hb <6.83 mmol/L (<11 g/dL) in trimesters 1 and 3 or Hb <6.52 mmol/L (10.5 g/dL) in trimester 2 was 322 (21.4%), and we did not further analyze the data based on the pregnant women with or without anemia due to there being much fewer women with anemia compared with those without anemia. The gene discussed is GSTM1; the disease is anemia (phenotype).
