In conclusion, the aim of the present study was not only to assess the prevalence of IgE-dependent markers of food sensitisation in a population of children with IBD, but also the possible association between the presence of these markers or the presence of elevated total IgE and the IBD clinical presentation, disease severity, need for biological/surgical treatment and selected laboratory parameters including IgA and IgG levels. The gene discussed is CD79A; the disease is inflammatory bowel disease.
