There were other risk factors that were associated with an increased risk for developing UTI among diabetic patients, such as hypertension (p = 0.006), microalbuminuria (p = 0.031), insulin therapy (p < 0.001), and a body mass index (BMI) greater than 30 kg/m2 (p < 0.001), all of which are complications of diabetes [14,46].
