INS and polycystic ovary syndrome: Multiple endogenous (insulin, leptin, adiponectin, cortisol, vitamin D, AGE, and inflammatory cytokines) [201] and exogenous molecules (glyphosate, phytoestrogens, resveratrol, curcumin, nicotine, alcohol, and azole agricultural antifungals) [216,217,218,219,220,221] can act as aromatase inhibitors and potentially contribute to hyperandrogenism in PCOS.
