According to a comprehensive analysis of B- and T-lymphocytes [89,90], sarcoidosis patients showed an increase in the number of naive B cells, a decrease in memory B cells, and an increase in the number of CD24 +++ CD38 +++ and CD5 + CD27– B cells with regulatory functions, which have been described for many autoimmune diseases. The gene discussed is CD5; the disease is sarcoidosis.
