In three clinical trials carried out in Colombia (ISRCTN33037282), Iran, and Turkey, methylprednisolone (dose of 250 mg per day or 2 mg/kg body weight) presented better results regarding clinical improvement in patients hospitalized for severe COVID-19 than dexamethasone (dose of 6 mg per day), with respect to hospitalization time, ICU admission, hospital stay in ICU, and biomarkers of severity (CRP, dimer D, and LDH) [267,268,269]. This evidence concerns the gene CRP and COVID-19.
