In the case of prostate cancer, a study including 155 treatment-naive patients with prostate cancer and 98 patients who had not undergone biopsy for suspicion of prostate cancer, utilizing PSA, CTCs positivity, and a 12-gene panel via RNA extracted from CTCs, they were able to predict clinically significant prostate cancer with an area under the curve (AUC) of 0.927 [30].
