However, within the present study, the increased risk of 30-day all-cause mortality in patients with hypalbuminaemia was not trigged by subgroups of patients with very low BMI or concomitant malignancies (i.e., in patients with increased risk of malnutrition), suggesting an independent association of albumin with the risk of 30-day all-cause mortality in the setting of CS. Here, ALB is linked to malnutrition.
