Another oncogene with a known etiology in different cancers, including prostate, is the epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR), and the cases having loss of function (LOF) mutations in EGFR showed enhanced efficacy for inhibitors of tyrosine kinase when compared to the cases lacking LOF mutations in EGFR [21,22,23,24]. The gene discussed is EGFR; the disease is cancer.
