In order to evaluate the biomarkers that were independently associated with AKI or mortality, stepwise binary logistic regression analysis was performed with serum suPAR level, O2 saturation, TLC, PLT, PT, PTT, INR, CRP, LD, creatinine, and eGFR laboratory variables, which showed different models with different explanatory variables, and from all models, suPAR was significantly associated with the occurrence of AKI after COVID-19 infection (Table 3) or with increased mortality probability within three-months of COVID-19 infection (Table 4). This evidence concerns the gene CRP and acute kidney injury.
