To further confirm the involvement of mPTP opening in the mechanism leading to increased myocardial infarct size after I/R in Mitofilin+/−, we treated WT and Mitofilin+/− hearts with Cyclosporin A [41], well known to delay the opening of mPTP via its binding to Cyclophilin D, a regulator of mPTP opening [42,43]. This evidence concerns the gene IMMT and myocardial infarction.
