Previous studies have reported the association of DNA damage with an increase in senescence; therefore, we checked if ICHD AF-MSCs have altered expression of DNA damage-response genes and found upregulated expression of MRE11(1 ± 0 vs. 1.45 ± 0.04; p < 0.01), NBS1(1 ± 0 vs. 1.25 ± 0.07; p < 0.05), and PARP (1 ± 0 vs. 1.8 ± 0.09 p < 0.01) genes in ICHD AF-MSCs (Figure 2g).
