NFKB1 and diabetes mellitus: It has been reported that O-GlcNAcylation at threonine-352 of the NF-κB p65 subunit in rat VSMCs inhibits the interaction between NF-κB and IκB so that NF-κB can enter the nucleus, which explains why NF-κB is continuously activated in diabetes and mediates the generation of chronic inflammation to a certain extent [56].
