As expected, both strains were insulin resistant as indicated by marked hyperglycemia and hyperinsulinemia (Figure 1D–E and Figs. S2A–B) as well as a considerably reduced glucose infusion rate (GIR) during the hyperinsulinemic clamp studies compared to the respective wild-type controls (Figure 2A–D).
