Very recently, a cohort study showed that acute COVID-19 or postacute sequelae of COVID-19 (PASC) are not related to autoantibodies but to elevated plasma levels of proinflammatory cytokines such as interleukin-1 beta (IL-1β), IL-6, and tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNF-α) [12]. This evidence concerns the gene IL1B and long COVID-19.
