Finally, to establish whether inhibition of mitochondrial transcription and translation might be a therapeutic target in human lymphoma, we treated Daudi B cell lymphoma cells (originally arising from Burkitt lymphoma) with IMT1, a specific inhibitor of mitochondrial RNA polymerase (POLRMT), which functions along with TFAM to initiate mitochondrial RNA transcription49. This evidence concerns the gene POLRMT and B-cell non-Hodgkin lymphoma.
