DUX4 and cancer: It is reasonable to suggest that this fusion protein in the CIC-DUX4 sarcomas, or the full-length DUX4 in some other cancers, contributes to immune evasion at least in part through its interaction with STAT1, and that targeting DUX4 or its interaction with STAT1 might improve immune-based therapies for DUX4-expressing cancers.
