The IL-1R antagonists anakinra (Kineret®), rionacept (Regeneron®; IL-1 trap), and canakinomab (Ilaris®; anti-IL-1β antibody), mentioned above, have not been studied in clinical trials alone in patients with AR, but they have been shown to be effective in treating rheumatoid arthritis, type 2 diabetes, and recurrent pericarditis [96–98].
