CD8A and myocardial infarction: In this novel clinical trial investigating TA-65 versus placebo in patients aged 65 years and over following myocardial infarction, we established four main results: there was no significant change in senescence-like CD8+ TEMRA after 12 months (the primary end point); there was a significant increase in lymphocytes across all major subpopulations; TA-65 was well tolerated overall with a lower number of total adverse events; there was also a trend towards less inflammation at 12 months.
