Examining over 7 million users of sildenafil, the researchers report that the common “lifestyle” cGMP-specific phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE5) inhibitor reduced the likelihood of individuals to develop symptoms of AD in a 6-year period by 69% after controlling for a plethora of factors (Fang et al., 2021).
