It is generally acknowledged that neuroinflammation plays an important role in the pathogenesis of Alzheimer’s disease (27, 28) and there are more inflammatory markers (TNFα, IL-1β, IL-6, IL-10) in patients with AD and mild cognitive impairment (MCI) than in healthy controls (29–32). The gene discussed is IL6; the disease is early-onset autosomal dominant Alzheimer disease.
